Ever Since 1947, The Italian Car Giant Came Up With The Original Idea Of Placing A Raced Designed Engine Into Their Road Going Vehicles, Which Gave Birth To The Glorious Maserati A6 1500 GT Pininfarina, This Being The First Real Maserati Granturismo And Ever Since This First Incarnation, The Maserati Brand Has Been Synonymous With Leading The Way On The Production Of Dramatic And Desirable High-End Performance Cars. When The First Cars Rolled Off The Production Line In Modena Italy, They Had Been Fitted With The Four Point Two Litre V8 Engine, However In 2008 The Company Decided To Increase The Cars Global Popularity With The Induction Of Maserati Granturismo S Variant, With These Cars To Be Fitted With The F136 Unit, More Commonly Known As The Ferrari-Maserati 4.7 90° V8 Engine, Which Gave Us An Astonishing BHP Reading Of 440 With A Torque Value Of 361 lb-ft, Which Can Accelerate Both Driver And Three Passengers From 0-62 MPH In Just 5.0 Seconds And Would Further Elegantly Glide To An Electrically Limited Top Speed Of 183 MPH, With All This Power Perfectly Controlled By The Six-Speed ZF Automatic Transmission. The Essence Of Maserati And Their Cars Has Always Been To Offer Powerful Vehicles, With A DNA Closely Linked To Racing, But At The Same Point Would Also Offer First Class Refinements, With Only The Use Of Highest Graded Materials And Craftsmanship That Are Unmistakably Maserati. The GranCabrio (GranTurismo Convertible in the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand) is a convertible version of the GranTurismo S Automatic, equipped with a canvas folding roof. The GranCabrio retains the four-seat configuration of the GranTurismo coupé and is thus Maserati's first-ever four-seater convertible.
The vehicle was unveiled at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show, with production beginning in 2010. The vehicle is built in the Viale Ciro Menotti Maserati factory. European sales were to begin in February 2010, with the United States receiving its first cars a month later. Planned sales for 2010 were 2,100 units, of which two-thirds were intended to go stateside.
The GranCabrio is powered by the same 4.7-litre V8 engine 434 bhp at 7,000 rpm and 490 N⋅m (361 lb⋅ft) at 4,750 rpm) that is fitted to the GranTurismo S Automatic.
