A new generation of the Virage was announced at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show by Aston Martin. The virage utilises technology from the DBS and combines this with the comfort and refinement from the DB9 and was clearly intended to sit in the narrow gap between the DB9 and the DBS. The Virages hand assembled 5.9 V12 engine has a power output of 490 bhp and completes 0-60 in 4.6 seconds and has a top speed of 186 mph. The Volante closely follows the improvements also previewed on the the coupe. But in addition, in order to stiffen the already strong VH platform, the Virage Volante has a solidly-mounted rear sub-frame as well as front and rear shear panels. The convertible hood also features a layer of Thinsulate material, adding refinement for the Volante customer. The Virage was only available 2+2 seating and Touchtronic 2 transmission as standard with no manual option whatsoever. Only 388 Virage Volante examples were built during just over a year of production making it quite a rare and desirable car. Virage Volante production came to an end in late summer 2012 when the car was replaced by the Gen4 ‘new’ DB9 Volante.
This two owner example in the superb colour combination of Onyx Black with Sandstorm Leather has full Aston Martin dealer service history with mileages at 3594, 6884, 13030, 15373 and 17680 with one having only just been completed and once sold will be presented with a full key set including the emergency, tracker pads, all the handbooks, the build card with factory options listed and a comprehensive warranty.
