Since 1954 Mercedes Benz have been offering the Mercedes SL model as part of their company line-up, with these examples being viewed as a truly luxurious convertible driving experience. In the December of 2011, Mercedes Benz announced the all new SL class and was formally launched at the North American international auto show in the January of 2012, with this new offering to include an elegant all new aluminium body helping with weight loss and an extensive array of high end updated Mercedes Benz technology, which of course increased the models desirability to new and old clients from around the world. As part of the new line up for the fifth generation R230 model came the SL350, with the factory fitting a three and a half litre engine that generated a healthy 315 brake horse power output, that was capable of accelerating from 0-62 mph in just 6.2 seconds and a limited top speed of 155 mph, with or without the convertible roof in place. Despite the Mercedes Benz SL brand now being more than six decades old, the latest stunning model is a very worthy continuation from past glorious SL cars and it fully respects the heritage of the firm’s GT series.
