AMG Was Founded As A Racing Engine Forged In 1967 By The Former Mercedes Engineers, Hans Werner Aufrecht And Erhard Melcher, With The Letters "AMG" Standing For Aufrecht, Melcher and Großaspach (Aufrecht's Birth Town). Now Owned By Daimler Mercedes, This Special Brand Is A High Profile Purveyor Of Modified Mercedes Vehicles, Adored By Drivers And Feared By Other Manufacturers. In The March Of 2011 The Mercedes Benz Factory Unveiled The All New R172 Model At The Geneva Motor Show, With This Dramatic New Addition To Still Follow Similar Exterior Design Detailing That Had Been Loved By Many On The R171 Model, But Now Would Have A More Muscular And Aggressive Nose, Up To Date And More Relevant Technology And A New Selection Of Engine Choices To Please Every Driver, Which Would Of Course Included The Mighty Top Of The Range SLK55 AMG That Instantly Delighted The Purist The Thrill Seekers. From The AMG Factory, The SLK55 AMG Had Been Fitted With The Five Point Five Litre V8, Producing A More Than Healthy 421 Brake Horse Power, Capable Of Accelerating Both Driver And Passenger From 0-62 MPH In Just 4.6 Seconds And Would Further Climb To An Electrically Limited Top Speed Of 155 MPH, With All This Power Available With Or Without The Electric Solid Folding Roof In Place.
This SLK55 AMG was optioned with the renowned P30 Performance Package, created by the AMG Performance Studio to celebrate the SLK55 AMG's sportiness. The AMG Performance Package that has been opted on to our SLK55 includes compound brakes for the front wheels, AMG Performance Suspension, AMG rear-axle limited slip differential lock giving the driver optimum road holding and an upgraded AMG Performance steering wheel with Fine Nappa leather and Dinamica microfibre trim. With so few cars being opted with the expensive P30 Package it has now become a rare find and with Mercedes deciding to replace the V8 SLK55 with the SLC43 and a 3.0 litre engine, which doesn't really give you the same feel these cars are now becoming more and more desirable, with prices beginning to firm up.
